Lee Jeffries
Lee Jeffries is well known for his dramatic portraits. They are filled with emotion and are very dramatic. His portraits are quite dark he uses a high contrast to exaggerate certain parts of the image. For example in this image her eyes and hands are the main focus of the image. The image conveys allot of sadness and pain through the expression and the darkness of the image. I find the detail of this image is amazing you see every line in her hands every speck of dirt it makes the image beautiful. I like the angle and composition of this photo its taken from directly in front of the subject who is on an angle facing away from the camera which helps show that she is in pain emotionally. As she doesn't look remotely interested in the camera and that her mind is on other things. Jeffries has cropped the photo so that you can only see her face and hands which is where he wants the viewer to focus on. Lighting is very important in this image as he is trying to illuminate the areas of the subject he wants the viewer to focus on it also makes the image more dramatic. Overall I like this image and find Jeffries portraits very beautiful and captivating
