Lucian Freud
Lucian Freud is a well known German artist, he was born in 1922. I chose to look at one of his pieces "girl with a fig leaf."
"Girl with the fig leaf" is an etching the Freud created in 1945. the image looks more like a cartoon style image. this image is well balanced in tone and is not too dark like most prints. he has used cross hatching and miniscule dots to create different tonal values. The dark line round the leaf make it look more three dimensional however the tone on the actual leaf doesn't look realistic.
Overall I think this print is detailed but not realistic but I still like it.
