Wall Explosion II by Roy Lichtenstien
Lichtenstien created this piece in 1965 out of enamel and steel. His inspiration for this piece was the Vietnam war and a popular comic that documented it. The insparation for the pop art theme was originated from the comic book style and also i think it might represent bullet holes. The grey mesh in the back ground is to represent smoke from the explosion. I like the bright coulours of the piece and the way it stands out fron the wall. I also like the meaning behind it. It is thoughtfull yet simple.
